See More StoriesI am now 71yrs old.
I started to do Triathlons aged 50 following Bowel cancer stage 3.
I started full Ironman (Swim 3.8k Bike 180k Run 42.2k) at age 60.
I attended the SSC originally for knee related injuries and with their help went on to qualify and compete successfully in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii 2014.
Got painful shoulder in 2019 was told in another private hospital I needed “shoulder replacement” and would not be able to do Ironman again.
I went to SSC for 2nd opinion.
Yes..they could sort me out.
Referred to physio Edel Fanning who specialised in shoulder injuries.
8 months later I competed in the World Championships in South Africa and was ranked 10th in my age group in the World.
In 2023 at age 71 competed in 70.3 Ironman World championships in Finland with the help of Dr. Cosgrave and his brother Matt.
I rely completely on SSC for any sports related injuries. I love the place.
It treats you with respect while still speaking to you both professionally and friendly so you feel totally comfortable relaxed and not rushed.
