I first went to Gavin McHugh in 2021, a year after suffering a displaced tibial plateau fracture.  I was in constant pain and my mobility was restricted badly.  Gavin advised removing plates and screws that had been put in after my accident.  The surgery was a success and the difference was amazing.  I was able to live relatively pain free.  In 2023, about 4 months before my wedding, I was really struggling with my leg.  The knee kept giving way beneath me as I was walking and the pain had returned with a vengeance.  Gavin gave me my options and we decided together that a partial knee replacement was the way to go.  I was terrified at the prospect of it and so anxious about being able to go ahead with the wedding.  I did not want to be in pain all day or have my knee collapse while walking down the aisle.  Well…  it was the best decision I could have made.  Gavin was able to partially replace the knee, clean out some of the debris and actually straighten my leg, which had been crooked since the accident.  I can’t explain the physical and emotional pain of the trauma my leg suffered.  I had no self confidence and my leg was a constant worry.  Words cannot express how grateful I am to Gavin for making sure I could walk down the aisle, get through my first dance and party into the night…  in heels (mostly)…  and all pain free.  I was even able to go snorkeling on honeymoon.   He gave me a whole new lease of life and I am confident in my leg.  I am back in the gym doing squats and lunges now…  something I never, ever thought would be possible.  Thank you for everything Gavin.
